July 11, 2017.  Age 59, left us to be with the Lord after a brave fight with cancer. Born on July 13, 1957, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Arnold and Mary Solstad. After graduating from Dearborn High in 1975, Laura married John Paul Caron in 1978. Together until the end, they lived in Dearborn, Japan, and Ann Arbor while raising three children: Danyelle, Andrew, and Nicholas. Laura's interests included cooking, gardening, home design, and she enjoyed Lake Michigan beaches, movies, and just being with her family and friends. She was a wonderful conversationalist, a loving mother, and a steady, selfless caretaker for her family. Laura was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tom Solstad. She is survived by her husband John Paul, daughter Danyelle Wilson, two sons, Andrew and Nicholas, granddaughter Isabelle Grace Wilson, grandson expected in October, sister Kathie Koski, and brother Michael Solstad. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Saline, Michigan, with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, and the Cancer Research Institute.
