A 16-year employee, Mr. Jordet rose through the ranks at the newspaper before being named its second-in-command for editorial decisions about four years ago, his father said.
A past president of the Royal Oak Kiwanis Club, Mr. Jordet dressed as Santa Claus at the group's Christmas parties and served as Sunday school superintendent at his church, St. Paul Lutheran in Dearborn.
Survivors include his wife, Janis; three daughters, Allison, Stephanie and Ashley; his parents, Donald and June; a sister; and a grandfather.
